1/12 scale ALTER EGO MkXX bjd model kit
Airsaber @Mr_props: I think I'll do just that. Thank you for all your replies! It's pretty awesome that you care so much about your projects and people who buy them. :)
Airsaber @Mr_props: Wow, what an exhaustive reply, thank you very much! Yes, you're right, I ordered the WSF version. I will probably let the parts soak for a while in warm water mixed with a bit of a mild detergent - that should take care of the powder. Annealed aluminium wire is more or less impossible to come by here, so regular aluminium, steel or copper wire it is. Isn't steel wire too strong, though? I'm afraid that I will choose some kind of wire that will cut into the parts...
Airsaber @Mr_props: I see, thank you for your reply! I've got my copy (so fast!), and I hope that you won't mind answering a couple of questions: 1) Which grit of sandpaper would you recommend? 2) Is it possible to polish the model so that the plastic gets semi-glossy? (I was planning on giving it a white glossy finish, but I'm not sure just how well the paint job would survive frequent posing.) 3) Would it be okay to use 0,2-0,3 mm copper or aluminium wire as long as it's folded in half and twisted around itself? (I've heard that twisted wire is more sturdy.) Sorry if these sound somewhat silly; it's my first time getting something from Shapeways, so I don't know my way around 3D prints yet.
Airsaber I've finally placed a preorder for amazing-looking figure ("finally" as in "I wanted to have Alter Ego for so long that the creator made an updated version before I managed to buy the old one" ;>), and I would like to ask - are the extra hands for FUD alter egos compatible with this kit?
