I was living as a "salaryman" in Tokyo In 1993 when the Internet arrived and stoked my imagination to a white heat. I remember remarking to a computer professional friend back then that someday I'd be able to build a "business in a box", a computer that sits in the corner busy 24/7 automatically selling and shipping products.
That day is today, except I don't even need the box, thanks to Shapeways.
Welcome to Happy Hermit 3D, where I showcase my 3D printing-enabled designs.
In 2014 I discovered Shapeways and started learning Blender 3D to make a sacramental oil lamp I started while in Tokyo. It lights my home today twenty years later with great beauty, convenience and economy. It runs on olive oil. It is a functional sculpture I call "Phi" after the Golden Ratio.
Now I create original jewelry, desk toys and desk tools. I focus on offering beauty, utility, and deep inner meaning, served up with a dollop of fun.
I explore metaphysical ideas and product innovation with 3D modeling. Shapeways makes my dreams come true, and lets me share them with you. Thank you for coming.
