Crown of thorns for a religiuous figure in Iztapalapa. The crown features many symbolism of the judeo.christian tradition, featuring:
The number 12: two rows of 12 thorns, representing the 12 apostoles and the 12 tribes of Israel.
The number 3: each thorn is a triangular prism. Represents the trinity, the holy family.
The number 24: the sum of both rows of thorns. Represents the Sun and 24 hours of the day.
The form of the crown represents the sun, like an allegory of Christ who is the new sun who lights the world.
