The Tenor Bass is a background pan, together with the 6-bass, 9-bass and 12-bass. These are the lowest pitched instruments - they play the bass lines that provide the harmonic and melodic chords for the steelband. The Tenor Bass provide the definition in the section and plays a crucial role in producing clean, unambiguous bass lines. The Tenor Bass consists of four pans played by one person.
