Two lines meet at a single point. An equal number of new points is evenly distributed along both lines. For each corresponding pair of points a new line is drawn connecting them. This sounds like a complex and tedious process but it is, in fact, a simple exploration of geometry performed by artists, engineers, and doodlers all over the world. Every line in our diagram represents a point of tangency to the same parabolic curve. This unique property of geometry helps form the basis of our understanding of parabolas and complex curvature.
A favorite of bored students everywhere, the beautiful form of these parabolic tangency diagrams is now available as an elegant hook. Perfect for coats or keys or even a hat if you're daring enough.
Attaches to a wall using a single #8 (or 4mm, if you prefer) screw, not included.
