Hammershøi Interior Pendant

This pendant was designed with Vilhelm Hemmershøi's, Interior in Strandgade, Sunlight on the Floor, in mind. Hammershøi's sparce interiors explore how light plays in interior spaces. Many of his paintings feature the mouldings and angles of interior fixtures such as doors and windows. My design is a very simple play on the geometric and symetrical shapes of the windows in the painting. These are also repeated in the door in the composition. I added a little playfullness with an abstract sun, the half circle, that comprises the bottom half of the design. 

All this pendnat needs is a couple of jump rings and chain, or some jewerly cord to make an elegant necklace.
