Tired of the brittle interior clips used to mount the interior panel on the rear hatch of a pre-96 Jeep Cherokee XJ?
If the clips are breaking on you, coming loose or just plain not strong enough to keep the panel up then replace them with a screw-in solution instead.
These flanged inserts rivet into the fibreglass hatch panel in the original clip holes. Some drilling required to make holes for hte rivets, and you may need to englarge the holes themelves to fit these inserts in.
Then screw the interior panel directly to these inserts.
This system has resulted in a solid mounting of the rear hatch interior panel for me - it doesn't vibrate, does not fall on my head, and it is SOLID.
On my XJ I had 11 clips, so I used 10 of these inserts and it mounts very solidly.
