- DKM CA Prinz Eugen [1942] (x3; also as Seydlitz and Lützow)
Some consider the
Prinz Eugen as a separate class; others as a subgroup/improved
Adm. Hippers.
Seydlitz and
Lützow are also part of this (
Prinz Eugen) group, but
Seydlitz was cancelled in 1942 and would've been built as an aircraft carrier (renamed
Weser). Work was suspended in 1943 and the hulk was eventually brought to Königsberg and scuttled.
Lützow was bought by the Soviet Union in 1940 (renamed to
Petropavlovsk), incomplete with only her 2x forward main batteries and much of the superstructure missing.
