Product Description
Much larger than my usual model ships, this model was made specifically for a costume; French noblewomen, from the court of of Louis XIII up until the French Revolution, wore lavish hats as part of their court dress, many times adorned with models of tall ships. Therefore, since that what this ship was meant for, I saw fit to make it in the design of a 17th century French warship, in fact largely inspired by the design of the Soleil Royal, flagship of Louis XIV. The design is very similar to my Dutch man-of-war, but with the scroll-type beakhead and more elaborate transom typically found on French ships.
