Product Description
This is the early Personal Oxygen Ventilator from Project Mercury. The POV was carried by astronauts on the way to the launch pad; it kept the suits cool before plugging into the capsule life support system. This "tool box" POV was used on the first three missions:
Freedom 7 Mission MR-3 / Alan Shepard
Liberty Bell 7 Mission MR-4 / Gus Grissom
Friendship 7 Mission MA-6 / John Glenn
