Product Description
Boy's surface is an immersion of the projective plane in 3D space, first thought to be impossible.
I made this model because I've wanted to grok this shape for a long time.
The irregular hole pattern has been calculated by simulating a Gray-Scott reaction diffusion process on the surface.
The algorithm has been modified so that at the sites of self-intersection, the different parts of the surface do not touch but instead weave through each other's holes.
Check out the color version, also available in my shop.
