At CTE RC, we have developed a transmission case which allows you to convert your TRF201X, TRF201XR or DN01 Zahhak rear motor buggy to run the reliable and tuneable TA06 gear differential. With the re-issue of the Zahhak in 2021 this is an ideal hop up.
Simply order this left hand case and it's right hand couterpart (
http://shpws.me/S23W), the TA06 rear differential 54471.
Install all the internals from your original transmission, simply replacing the ball diff with the gear diff. You can still run the gear diff in this casing, but you need to install spacers either side of the diff to meet the wider set bearings. Or buy a TA06 rear ball diff which drops straight in.
The gear differential is much more reliable and easier to maintain than the ball diff, and whilst the diff kit comes with 900wt oil to fill it, we recommend around 3000cst oil as a starting point for good diff action on dry high grip conditions.
To prepare the part, run a 3.1mm drill through the holes for the 3x35mm screws which attach the motor mount, and the front vertical hole to attached to the front bulkhead of the chassis. M3 tap the rear mounting lower mounting hole and the upper hole for the motor protector, and the hole for the brace to the shock tower.
Whilst Versatile Plastic will work, we recommend the PA12 material, as it's stronger and stiffer, and not much more expensive.
