B3RD is my new 3d printable bird design - the result of nearly four years work and hundreds of iterations, this is the 3rd major variant - a piece of mechanical art aiming to inspire and delight people of all ages.  Available in a rainbow of colours - the only extra items you need to make it work are two small orthodontic elastic bands (5/16" recommended).

The secret to the motion is two pairs of paddles that operate the fore and rear parts of the inner wing - and can move out of phase with each other to create the full flapping action (with a little practice, you can make it happen with one hand!)  Suitable as a gift for a kids (5 and up) and for every adult who has an inner child, this is the kind of moving sculpture that can only be created with SLS 3D printing.
