Product Description
This set includes individual lower sash to fit the windows for the Prince Edward Island Railway/ CNR 1904 Standard Booking Station. Both 6 and 9 pane sash are included.
These stations were built at eight locations on the Murray Harbour branch in 1905: Hazelbrook, Vernon, Vernon River, Grandview, Melville, Wood Islands, Murray River, and Murray Harbour. A station was built at Montague Bridge in 1906, and a slightly modified station was built at Elmira, the easternmost point on the PEIR, in 1911.
If you wish to model these structures with the window open, simply sand the moulded-in lower sash from the full window set, paint and glaze the windows and lower sash, and assemble. I recommend either Canopy Cement or Weldbond for this assembly work, as these adhesives hold well to plastic and dry clear.
Full details on the PEIR structures can be found in my article in the July 2011 Model Railroader Magazine.
These parts can also be used to build a number of Intercolonial Railway of Canada/ CNR stations.
