This Romanian aircraft was built to compete in the long distance air races that were very popular in the late 1930s. Its trimotor configuration is unusual both because aircraft of its size normally had either one or two engines but also because the engines are of two different types. The wing engines are air cooled inverted straight-6 which is a well established configuration still in use today whilst the central engine was an air cooled inverted V-12 which proved very unreliable.
The spherical recess underneath the model is for mounting it on a 4.5mm (.177") BB.
