Product Description
This product is available in two sprue sizes, which can be selected from the menu to the right.  The "small" size includes parts for 2 truck trailers; the "large" size includes parts for 4 truck trailers.  A small hobby blade and a file or sanding stick will be required to separate parts from their sprues and to clean up the edges.

- - -

This set of refrigeration equipment is based on a 1950s Thermo King design used to control the temperature of highway truck trailers.  Three parts are included for each truck trailer system-- an AC unit that mounts on the front of the trailer, a junction box that mounts below that, and an equipment unit that mounts underneath the trailer.  The AC unit and the junction box are sprued together in such a way that they can be mounted to the front of the trailer as one component with the correct spacing, easing the modeling process, or they can be separated by the modeler and mounted individually for a bit more realism.  Divots are included to help add optional modeler-supplied electrical cabling if desired.

We were inspired by a small fleet of Fruehauf truck trailers bought by the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad in 1959 sporting a variation of that railroad's famous "State of Maine" paint scheme, but we're sure that there are countless other suitable applications for these refrigeration sets.  Our parts are designed to easily fit onto Walthers 35' fluted-side HO truck trailers with no modifications and they quickly change the whole look of the trailer, adding some welcome variety to a mid-century TOFC fleet.

A simple installation guide is included in the photo gallery above, but feel free to defer to photos of your favorite real-world examples in case of discrepancy.  Tamiya Flat Aluminum was our preferred choice for painting our own example units.
