Product Description
An OO (4mm) scale model of the NSR Signal Box at Cheddleton, on the Churnet Valley Railway, Staffordshire. Modelled as it is now, but with Cheddleton nameboards on front and side.
Parts include to make complete model are: base with full depth door to locking room, signal cabin, two internal roof tie bars, internal roof insert (removable so you can add interior easily), posable internal door, external roof, stove pipe & porch with steps. ** This model has been updated with thicker windows and a larger nameboad on the front - July 2016 **
Instructions
The Wooden part of the box sits on top of the brick section. (The Clifton & Consall models have small notches under the wooden structure to help locate them on the support brackets).
The stairs\porch will be placed up to the body of the building. The door can be positioned as you wish. (Note –this is not possible on the external porch door on the Cheddleton model – only the internal door, due to how it is moulded)
Detail the interior as you see fit with frame, stove and instrument block shelf of your choice/construction.
Slot in the support beam(s) and slide in the false roof.
Place the main roof over the top and slide in the chimney. Adjust to suit, but the top should be below the roof ridge line.
You may wish to use a small bit of tin foil to replicate the lead flashing capping the tiles on the Cheddleton/Elton porch roof – see photos on Google for reference.
Paint in your chosen colours.
