1:87 - FORD FORDOR - STAFF CAR - (2 PACK)
Overview
This is a scalemodel of the nicely curved, American U.S. Army (Ford Fordor) staff car for HO scale model railroads. Used for transporting high ranking staff personnel and airmen. Produced for the U.S. Army from 1942 till 1945, but still used today as vintage cars. Link to my other HO models
Features
The model is designed to be printed in 4 parts (sprued);
- (2x) Chassis with wheels
- (2x) Main car body
- Figures : (2x) Driver and (2x) general
Painting
Before painting, always degrease your model in a glass of lukewarm water and a drop of dishwashing soap (do not use a dishwasher!). Allow it to dry completely before painting.
Aplie a thin layer of paint, use 'drybrush' techniques to bring the detail alive. Paint the inside and interior parts first, before gluing the figure and car body. If you don't have a lot of experience; watch multiple 'tutorials' on youtube about painting model vehicles. You can't rush art, so take your time to finish the model ;).
* I recommend a thin layer of 'Acrylic surface primer' (Vallejo N° 70.601) for the first coat
.
Glass windows
If you like to add transparent windows, you could use some transparent plastic film, or a liquid product like this; "Microscale Kristal Klear" (http://www.microscale.com). You can also try to use transparant wood glue (PVA), smear it around the window-hole and let it dry one day. It will get clear once hardened. Whatever method you use; Always test it on some scrap plastic before you apply it to your model!
Scale 1:87
1:87 is 'H0' scale for model railroads, half the size of '0 scale' ("hah-null").
Thanks for stopping by & have a good day!
