Product Description
Inspired by the battery-electric locomotives that operate on the Groudle Glen Railway in the UK and based off drawings and photographs of those locomotives in their original and reconstructed forms, this locomotive is intended to be a small switcher suitable for many 3/8n20 layouts. This model is not an exact representation as some compromises needed to be made to fit the drive into the body shell. It has also been modified to the typical industrial outline of this model of locomotive without a cab. This model is intended to use a Northwest Shortline STANTON™ Drive, model 39615-4. The headlights are designed to have standard 5mm LED bulbs inserted into them from the inside (via an access hole in the bottom). It should be possible to fit a small DCC decoder inside the end boxes through one of the access holes. The central seat is a separate part, inserted after bolting the drive in. It is recommended that the modeller add weight within the body shape during assembly to add weight. The recess for the drive is based upon drawings provided by the manufacturer. 3D Print errors and manufacturing differences may cause some filing to fit the drive. This locomotive is fitted for link and pin couplers. It may also be possible to fit San Juan Car Company O Scale Tender Couplers. Please send a message if you wish a version adapted to Kadee or equivalent couplers.
