Product Description
This is a 3mm:1ft model of a pair of the 6' wheelbase diamond frame bogies that were fitted to the ICI 40t caustic soda bogie tank wagon. The distinguishing feature of these bogies is the "Little Giant" handbrake, one lever on one side of each bogie, such that the handles were close to opposite corners of the wagon (so fit your chosen coupling arrangement at the end of the bogie closest to the handle).
The model is very much experimental for now, so please buy at your own risk.
The model comes complete with 4 axles of "intermediate standard" wheels (3'1.5" prototype diameter) with 20mm between pinpoints. The bogie bearing plate is 9 mm above rail height with these wheels, and the pivot hole is 3mm diameter. I have included a cheesehead spigot that fits through the hole and is kept in place by a grommet which you will need to break to free the spigot, and replace with an o-ring or bent bit of wire once it is mounted in a wagon to keep the new bogies on.
This model has been produced on personal request to fit the Triang TT model of the said ICI bogie tank wagon: the plan being to cruelly drill out the pop rivets that keep the original (but wrong) Gloucester/Davis&Loyd-ish bogies on the heritage model (please take the tank off first) and then fit the new bogies using the spigot in these printed ones. This plan may change and I may remove the wheels or spigots if they're not wanted, and perhaps upload them separately. I have had good feedback that 3mm:1ft wheels in smoothest fine detail plastic work fine in smoothest fine detail plastic pinpoint cones, and they seem to be OK on my 3mm:1ft Rectank models too.

UPDATE: 2021-07-17 several weeks ago I got a set of these bogies and they seem to be OK. I managed to snip the "O"-ring in just one place and found it was flexible enough to come off the spigot in one piece, and fit back on, so you may not even need to source rubber ones to keep the bogies on the spigots when they're fitted on the wagon.
