Product Description
NER quad bolster wagon to 2mmFS scale, based on the drawing in "Historic Wagon Drawings in 4mm Scale" by F.J.Roche. These seem to have been 6 inches shorter than the very similar Poll wagons, and with narrower planks and smaller buffer housings.
This model is designed for use with the Graham Farish diamond frame bogies.
Finish with bogies, handbrake wheels, buffer heads and wire bolster pins and chain rings on the bolsters. You may have to drill out the holes for these.
Genuine old Graham Farish diamond frame bogies should be reduced in height by removing the raised circular boss
from the top, which will give the right ride height. Drilling out the buffer shanks to accept Peco Parkside turned brass bufferheads can be done but requires great care and considerable patience. I used a series of drill bits from about
0.35 mm to 0.75 mm. It might be safer to stick suitably small discs on the ends of the shanks instead.
If you can’t source some nice etched brass brake handwheels, you could try ordering my 3d printed stacks of them.
Shapeways won’t always print them, though, unfortunately (they are pretty fine).
