Roman Dodecahedron About 100 of these mystery objects dating back to Roman times have been found in Europe and South-East Asia.
They range in size from about 2" to 4" and were made of bronze or stone, although a few smaller ones in gold were found in Asia.
Nobody knows for certain what they were for, there's no written description in the historical record, and the holes come in many different arrangements.
