Product Description
LDH 70 is a locomotive manufactured by Uzinele 23August (former Uzinele Malaxa, now FAUR SA) from 1965 till 1983 in Romania. It was powered by a diesel engine type Maybach-MB-820-Bb (12 cylinders striaght type) and had a hydraulic transmision, licensed by Voight. Locomotive had a 520 KW (700 HP) power and maximum speed of 70 Km/h. Main use was for heavy shunting operation and hauling trains on secondary routes. It was used extensively in Romania, but also exported in several other countries such as: Bulgaria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Egipt or Greece.
