Product Description

This fractal object is similar to a Sierpinski Carpet, but is based on a Golden Rectangle. A Golden Rectangle is one with aspect ration of 1.618..., the Golden Mean. Six rectangles are joined in a circuit to create a larger rectangle with the same aspect ratio, but with a long slot in the middle. This structure is scaled by the square of the Golden Mean and plugged into each of the six original rectangle locations. Repeating these steps generates a fractal. This sculpture has four generations of holes.
