Product Description
The HMS Springbank was build in 1926 by Harland & Wolf as a merchant ship. In 1939 the british admirality take over the ship and converted it to an Auxiliary Anti- Aircraft Vessel (AAAV) as escort ship for convois. in 1941 it was converted again, now ito a Fighter Catapult Ship (FCS) armed with a Fairey Fulmar Figther. Later in 1941 she was sunk west of the British Island by a Submarine.
The History of the HMS Alynbank was nearly the same, but she wasn´t convertet into a fighter carrier. Her fate was different, she was sunk as a Blockship during D-Day. The HMS Foylebank was a sistership of them.
