This is my take on the H-45 battleship. Such a vessel was allegedly suggested by Hitler after viewing the Gustav gun, but no further design work was carried out.
I ended up arming the ship with eight 80cm Gustav guns with the upgraded 84 meter barrel length that is mentioned in numerous sources. I chose this version because I felt that the standard barrel length did not give the ship's main guns enough of a firing range when compared to battleships with much smaller main guns. For secondary armament, I equipped the ship with eight Scharnhorst turrets, each containing three 28cm guns. For air defense, I included a large number of wirbelwind turrets and dual 10.5cm heavy AA guns. Additionally, I included 12 super heavy 24cm AA guns. Some of the H-45 sources mention this weapon, and you can find a few articles about the static 24cm AA gun online. I also had to increase the overall length to 700m, because at 610m, the main guns were even more disproportionality large than they still ended up being.
Of course, there is no definitive H-45 design, and this is my own artistic interpretation, and I drew inspiration from other H-45 designs as well as the designs of other real ships.
This model is scaled to be compatible with A&A style games, and it is currently at 1:7370 scale.
