This Thanksgiving, the team at Shapeways is incredibly grateful to have such an awesome and talented community. To all those celebrating, hope you have a wonderful holiday!
And to our friends on the other side of the Atlantic who may not be as familiar with the American tradition, we share with you the wise words of Stephen Colbert (thanks to HuffPo):
“Thanksgiving is a magical time of year when families across the country join together to raise America’s obesity statistics. Personally, I love Thanksgiving traditions: watching football, making pumpkin pie, and saying the magic phrase that sends your aunt storming out of the dining room to sit in her car.”

Whilst visiting Tennessee from the UK nearly 20 years ago, the very ancient great aunt of a friend of mine over there asked if we celebrated Thanksgiving. With the encouragement of my American friend, I couldn’t resist a little gentle leg pulling. She seemed very content with my answer, “Yes of course we do, we celebrate that we had somewhere to send our excess population!”
I fondly remember watching (on what was then a huge projection TV) Dallas playing at home with snow falling through the hole in the roof of their stadium, plates of food that seemed like buffet trays to me, and good spirits all round.
For the real reason, not one to tease the old with, I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and don’t forget the gym will be waiting for you afterwards!
Andrew
The Gym? you mean storming wall mart 😛
