Tunnel piece for Scorcher Chassis V3
Infin8 NEW PART! - adds onto my V3 chassis to add a realistic Tunnel down the centre
Custom scale chassis for Tamiya Sand Scorcher SRB
Infin8 I have the proto of new version, looks great, geometry is good. Tunnel peice fits well and looks awesome but doesnt have to be used. Pics coming soon.
Infin8 Well, after losing my working drawing of V2 (arrrgh!!) I have come back with New V3!! - slightly better geometry, cleaner stamping on the top surface. Once checked in the real world this will be the version I stick with. - Tunnel piece add on coming soon !!
Infin8 V2 now with updated pics. Fits well. Screws all nicely flush. I'm still toying with the idea of increasing the wall height to cover the gap there even more. The dimples on the top side for locating the position of the holes for the stock bumper need to move outward 1mm ea, otherwise looks excellent.
Infin8 @paoloro00 7mm is only the thickness of the tunnel bit including the detailed potrusions. Because of the complex shape the thickness varies from 2mm. Weight is 128 grams ( standard is 85g) this is a scale part. The sand scorcher is not well known for its light weight. Thats why it drives so realistically.
Infin8 V2 now uploaded - Beware the pics are still for V1. New rails on top surface to fill the gap and add stiffness - remains true to vw chassis as this would be a lift kit added to off road buggies. Realistic pattern on top surface now and provision for custom roll cage fitment (mount plates) moulded in.
Infin8 Ok, even though the proto is a success, a new version is coming. Making the fit a little more snug to the body, adding a vertical wall to the chassis outer to fill the gap between body and chassis. This will add stiffness to the chassis too. Equivalent to a 3" lift kit. Also provision for cage mounts.
Infin8 Fyi @James_Knight Ps love your work
