Product Description
Presenting gamers, both new and old, with a new kind of interactive narrative exploration is Journey, the third game from ThatGameCompany that shows the extent to which gaming can deliver unique and moving experiences.  The traveler in red (or white) begins alone on a crest of a rising dune with only a beckoning mountain in the far distance to call them home.  Whether or not the traveler remains alone, is up to the player.  Journey affords gamers the chance to anonymously engage with other players, or go it alone across the ruined and dusty landscape that is the desert world of the narrative. This 3D printed "sandstone" resin sculpture commemorates this remarkable game, depicting the traveler in red, windswept pathways toward the rising mountain, passing the markers of those who came before, with one of the game's mysterious 'cloth creatures' circling the player.  The model comes printed as you see pictured here.  Around the base are the lyrics to Austin Wintory's Grammy-winning score and anthem to the game, "I was born for this," taken from some of the last words of Joan of Arc, as well as other lyrical haikus, proverbs, and poems.  The song appears in minute detail in both its native languages, as well as English:Stat sua cuique dies / To each his day is given. (The Aeneid (X.467))Maél is mé tó féran. / Time it is for me to go. (Beowolf, 316-319)ὤλετο μέν μοι νόστος / - Lost is my homecoming (Homer; Illiad)C'est pour cela que je suis née - I was born for this (Joan of arc)C'est pour cela que je suis née - I was born for this (Joan of arc)この道や / 行く人なしに / 秋のくれ / Along this road / Goes no one / This autumn eve. (Bashō)
(phoenetically: Kono michi ya / yuku hito nashini / aki no kure)Ne me plaignez pas - Do not Pity me (Joan of Arc) [reprise "I was born for this"]The approximate size of this figurine is
