Has Anyone Used Thermoplastic Elastomer To Make A Mold?

I'm interested in making a mold direct in Shapeways and then using that mold for casting either resin and/or epoxy putty. The mold itself has to be flexible to remove the cast item. To that end I was wondering if anyone has tried this using the Thermoplastic Elastomer material? I have a feeling that the resin is just going to solidify right into the mold thus rendering it useless. The epoxy putty I'm not so sure about. That may work?

Thanks. I think you're right about resin possibly causing problems. I'm quite used to using silicone but am trying to find a way around the actual making of the mold by going straight to printing one. Too bad there isn't a printable silicone.
