FRC04a - FR Long Slab Wagon with couplings (Square Buffer)
The FR slab wagons were essentially slate wagon chassis with timber bearers bolted to the floor instead of the crate body of the slate wagons, but in the case of the long wagons stretched out to 8ft long and 5ft wheelbase. In practice, there are many small detail differences which are all fully modelled here. Also fully modelled and fully functional, are the couplings. FRC04a features square ended buffers - for rounded buffer see FRC04.
Requires only axleboxes, timber bearers and Wheels to complete. A pack of axleboxes and bearers is available, code AC01, or you can use real timber and axleboxes AB01 which are designed to take Slater's wheels.
As this is an all plastic wagon it is quite light - you may wish to try FRB04 instead, which doe not have couplings modelled,but which can be added in bronze from my range to increase weight.
Printing in Red, Orange or Yellow is recommended as it will be less obvious should paint become worn on the couplings compared to plain white.
