In protracted trench warfare, artillery is king of the battlefield. In preparation for such a war, the Alexandrian Empire developed a type of artillery that could be used at short ranges and was well protected from infantry and traditional cavalry, both of which posed a great threat to exposed cannons. By combining the firepower of a 155mm field howitzer with a tank chassis, the Alexandrians believed that they came up with the perfect technological terror for the impending continental war. This vehicle, industrial designation Object 109-KV (after its designer, Kveta Vamaruchenko) was dubbed the Jenůfa Nószimål Gun, after the Rhunnish Grand Marshal.
The combination of all-around tracks and torsion bar suspension had previously been employed on the Dwarven Battlewagon, a ubiquitous Bulmutian AFV. While the JN-1 was not intended to be used the same way, the design theoretically allowed it. The 155mm howitzer, housed in a miniature version of a pre-dreadnought battleship turret, can elevate to a mere 26 degrees, which does not allow the JN-1 to attack at the same ranges as traditional artillery. However, because it's armoured, it doesn't have to.
