Product Description
Bombers were three times the size of standard fighters, so large that only planetary bases (or very large asteroids) could hold them. They were, therefore, almost entirely used as defensive units to protect planets. Every attempt to build a bomber base within range of an enemy target was completed after the target had been destroyed by mobile units.

The B-1 was designed from a clean computer screen after the Federation realized that the FB-111 (the Federation's “gunboat”) and pushed the idea of an overloaded fighter too far. Built from a new hull, the B-1 carried a forest of weapons, including two phaser-2s, a Gatling phaser, six type-I anti-ship drones, two type-III multi-warhead drones, defensive systems, electronic warfare systems, and two photon torpedoes. The photons occupied half of the space in the internal weapons bay; the other half (or the entire bay if the photons were not used) could be configured to carry various combinations of drones (even double-sized heavy drones), cargo, transporter bombs, or a nuclear space mine.

The ship is available only in Smooth Fine Detail Plastic due to its size. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces
