7000 Scale Gorn Godzilla Battleship (BB) SRZ

The Gorns are six-to-seven-foot-tall, 350-pound, cold-blooded, egg-laying, reptilian humanoids bearing a superficial resemblance to a T-Rex or Raptor. Despite the fearsome visage, they are actually quite civilized people who run one of the few democracies in the galaxy. The Federation and Gorns met in a border incident in which two hot-headed captains shot first and faced embarrassing questions later. (A Federation corporation built an unauthorized colony outside of Federation territory. The Gorns saw a few Vulcans and thought the colonists were Romulans (with which they had fought wars for over a century). Diplomats smoothed everything over and the Gorns became the most stable ally of the Federation. The Gorn legislature’s reluctance to spend money or join the Federation's war limited this alliance during some periods. (Note: The dinosaur-based names are Federation “reporting names” because few in the Federation could pronounce the Gorn names for them. Shown books on paleontology, the Gorns were reportedly honored and amused by the naming convention.)

Reports of the Klingon program to build huge battleships sent every empire into a fury of designing massive ships. Given the extreme length of the Gorn dreadnought, the Gorn design staff envisioned that a battleship design would have to be based on a wider, rather than a longer, dreadnought hull. Difficulty in producing the massive engines caused a serious delay to the construction program. The ship carried two plasma-Rs, three plasma-Ss (one firing to the rear as the ship was about as maneuverable as a brick), four plasma-Ds, and no less than 21 phasers. The Federation (building their own Mars-class) exchanged design plans with the Gorns and assigned the reporting name “Godzilla” to the Gorn design. The Gorns (previously amused by the Federation use of Terran dinosaur names for their ships) were shown some of the old videos and were reportedly delighted by the name. The ship carries six advanced G-12 superiority fighters for self-defense.

This unpainted ship is designed to fit on a typical 5/8-inch hex map or to allow more room on a larger hex map. (If used for A Call to Arms: Star Fleet, simply change the measurements from inches to centimeters.)
