3788 Scale Probr Gunboat Tender (PFT) MGL

The Omega Octant is east of the Alpha Octant empires seen in the Star Fleet Universe (beyond the Inter-Stellar Concordium), on the other side of a galactic void. That void is a dead zone where life is impossible and ships fall apart, marking a separation between Octants.  The Probr are a species of salamander-like amphibians that were the product of a genetic engineering experiment by another species known only as THEM. The Probr revolted, killing all of THEM. The Probr Revolution stayed out of the First Great War, but joined the fray during the Maesron Collapse to become one of the Four Superpowers. Probr ships are built from a combination of one of more of the “basic hulls" and various wings are added on. The ships are armed with quantum phasers, plasma-like HEAT torpedoes, and target accentuators.

A variant of the Probr frigate, the gunboat ship tender was initially intended more as a sort of "gunboat conveyor" to larger Probr PF tenders, such as the space control ship (which first appeared a few years after the Gunboat Tender entered service). As such, it initially lacked any sort of repair facilities, which (as with several other early frigate-sized gunboat tenders) limited their capacity for independent action. However, after witnessing the likes of the Trobrin Refitted Gunboat Tender in action, the Probr installed a similar refit of their own which allowed this ship to repair its own gunboats also. (This miniature may be used to represent both the Gunboat Tender and Refitted Gunboat Tender.)

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
