Product Description
This is the Porsche 962 Short Tail that was introduced in 1989. Ultimately my end goal is to produce the 1991 Daytona 24 winning Joest Porsche 962C, and this is the start. Look for the rear wing assembly to complement. This 1/24 scale conversion has been designed for the Tamiya Porsche 962C kit. All you have to do is carefully trim the standard tail following the parting lines on the Tamiya kit. Finish and add details as desired.
There are two material options here, the nylon (White Natural Versatile Plastic) or the resin (Fine Detail Plastic). The cheaper nylon does come with the drawback of requiring more time to finish. I find that multiple coats of a spot filling primer, with sanding between coats, will tame the material. The Fine Detail Plastic will simply require less work, but it has unique handling properties (bookmark this link).
