Modern wind turbine scale model. Blades are 80 mm each, mast is 150 mm tall. Snap fit design for fitting blades to rotor hub, and hub to generator housing. Hub has a working, rotatable mount, so the blades will rotate if pushed gently by hand. The perfect modern windmill for your scale modeling layout or diorama.
To provide an approximate idea of equivalent size of this wind turbine, by

blade length:
- Airport Modeling (1:400) scale:
197 ft / 60 m, 105 ft / 32 m
- Z Scale (1:220):

I designed this model for a personal project, to motorize it when I get the time:
The mast has a 3 mm hole through it for a thin brass or steel rod through to the top as a drive shaft. The base has space for a pager motor and mod 0.5 gears. There is a 2 mm axle shaft hole through the rotor and generator housing, to enable a turret gear drive for the wind turbine. There is just enough allowance at each of the mount points, axle and rotor both, to add a single ply of thin PTFE tape (the type used for plumbing fittings) to reduce friction. For any additional hints towards motorization of the model, please "contact designer" at the top of this page.
