3125 Scale Hydran New Escort Cruiser CVN

The Hydrans are an unusual species that live on the far side of the Klingon Empire, along the edge of the galaxy. They are enemies of the Klingons and Lyrans, and were conquered by those empires at one point, only to drive the invaders out decades later. Hydrans breathe methane and live on cold type-S gas giants on silicate continents floating on liquid methane oceans.

The Hydrans, like other empires, built larger and larger escorts for their carriers and heavy ships. When this need reached the cruiser class, the Hydrans used the obsolescent Horseman light cruiser instead of the larger Mongol war cruiser. The result was a very effective escort cruiser at a lower cost as it did not cost the Hydrans a better cruiser to build one. The heavy weapons were replaced by extra phasers. As with other Hydran escorts, this ship not only had facilities to refuel, repair, and rearm the fighters of the carrier it was escorting, but six fighters of its own. Sometimes called the light cruiser escort, its known names include Hydrabart, Hydrajen, Defence, Defiance, and Hydrajean.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
