Product Description
The Model 18 is a twin-engine, low-wing, taildragger manufactured by Beech Aircraft. A symbol of the post-war success of American aviation, this aircraft functioned as a feeder airliner for larger mainlines. Produced for over 30 years during and after the War, it filled several niches around the aviation industry, and provided a training platform for new aircrews in the USAAF, USN and foreign air forces.
This 1:96 scale model features my first use of a redesigned radial engine intended for widespread use in my future models. Inspired by several Wasp models in the sub-2000hp category, the engine has several customizable parts and components, enabling tweaks and modifications to be quickly added to tailor the engine to whatever particular model is using it, while saving time and resources in rebuilding an engine for every new aircraft. Enjoy!
