The autorickshaw, a three-wheeled mini-taxi from India. Similar to the "tuk-tuk" vehicle found in various parts of south-east Asia. This version consists of a set of 4 vehicles.
Recommended material: Frosted Ultra Detail.
Modeled in HO-scale (1:87), suitable for use as a static road vehicle on model railroad layouts, especially for train layouts and dioramas modeling the Indian subcontinent or south-east Asia. This model has very fine surface detail, including curvature of headlight, turn indicator lights, and embossed stripes on the sides.
The model is a single unit and thus cannot be fabricated in full color. It will require careful painting with a very fine brush.
For the adventurous: Working axles, rotating wheels!
The front steering as well as the rear axle are designed with (in theory) rotatable axles, that just barely meet the Shapeways criteria for minimum separation in Frosted Detail and Frosted Ultra Detail materials. Therefore, while the model as shipped might not be able to rotate either of those hinges, a very careful cleaning of any powder stuck between the hinge and axle surfaces may free up the hinges for rotation. However, this isn't an exact science, and the model might get damaged while poking around - Hence, this "rotation-enabling" effort is entirely at the buyer's risk. You have been warned!
If this model is needed in any other scale, please leave feedback specifying what scale ratio is of interest, and I will do my best to convert it to that scale.
