3788 Scale Hydran X-Ship Ranger-X Heavy Cruiser CV

The Hydrans are an unusual species that live on the far side of the Klingon Empire, along the edge of the galaxy. They are enemies of the Klingons and Lyrans and were conquered by those empires at one point, only to drive the invaders out decades later. Hydrans breathe methane and live on cold type-S gas giants on silicate continents floating on liquid methane oceans.

The improved power of the X-technology refit made it possible for the ship to reach point-blank range against non-X-ships where its fusion beams were devastatingly effective. However, as more and more X-ships appeared in service, the Ranger-X was placed at a severe disadvantage. The initial parallel production of Ranger-X and Dragoon-X ships was changed to Dragoon-Xs exclusively after the first two Ranger-Xs were completed. The Ranger-X carries nine advanced fighters and after X-ships became common enough to make its point-blank tactics unworkable, they functioned as high-speed attack carriers. Known names include Bravery and Tenacity.

This ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
