Product Description
This is a 1/64 scale grain drill. It is a 15' no-till grain drill. Spacing is 7.5". Markers are [u]not[/u] included. Markers are available as a kit on my store. Caster wheels swivel. Drill lid can open. Drill gangs can raise and lower.
Comes with almost everything needed to finish the model minus pins to mount drill gangs, hitch, and wheels.
I use approx. 24 gauge wire for the pins. I also use jewelery head pins in some spots. The head pins I use to mount the tires. They are about 0.027" thick. Pretty much all of the holes on the model are 1/32" in diameter or at least close to it. I also used the head pins to mount the caster wheel frame.
To mount the gangs, slide wire through the bearings on the ends of the drill into the gang. There are some bearing caps included for the very center section of each gang.
There are a few small pieces with this model. It will take a bit of patience and time to get the model put together correctly. Prior experience in model building is recommended. I designed the kit off of a John Deere 750 drill. I tried to design clearances to allow for thickness of paint.
The finished result would be a great piece for farm displays. Not intended for play. Please be carefull with assembly as pieces can be brittle. Pieces may also be warped. Pieces can be straightened out by running them under hot water and carefully bending them back into shape. Some pieces may break during shipping. Gangs tend to break in the middle. Some of the arms of the units also tend to break. These can easily be repaired with super glue.
