Product Description
In WW II the Imperial Japanese Army operated a small Fleet of own ships for army landing operations. One of them was the Landing Craft Depot Ship Hyuga Maru, second ship of the Kibitsu Maru Class. The name supplement Maru indicates, that this vessel was not operated byx the imperial Japanese Navy.  Up to twenties Daihatsu 14m Landing craft could be loaded and launched via a gate at the stern. All of the ships of the class have had a different appearence, the Settsu mary was fitted with a twin side by side funnel and the arangement of the AA-Platforms are not the same as on the Kibitsu or Hyuga Maru. The was entering service in November 1944 and was mined in May 1945, beached and deemed as total oss.
