Product Description

My Egyptian Ring Design was inspired by Elisabeth Jerichau Baumann (Danish, 1819 - 1881)An Egyptian Fellah Woman with her Baby, 1872 / Oil on canvas / 98.5 x 129.2 cmIt was important to me to integrate different elements from the painting in my design. I have been inspired by the intricate scuplture in the background with the small arabic bas-reliefs. For my final design, I also decided to combine the details of the jewlleries within the painting as the golden bracelet, the earings and necklace of the Egyptian. On the side of the ring I sculpted an abstract version of the reeds holded by the man. In my creations, I like to add details on the inside of the ring. In this design the interior is inspired by egyptian motifs.My goal while creating this ring was to keep an ancient / antique look to my design, as if it had been designed for the the egyptian himself.
